Pakistan is soon launching the National Digital Commission with an aim to digitise the country. This is an initiative that is set to introduce a transformative framework for economy, governance, and society that promises to innovate Pakistan’s digital landscape
At One Homes, we believe in being part of Pakistan’s growth story. As the nation embraces innovation, we focus on creating luxury living destinations that align with this digital transformation, offering overseas Pakistanis a seamless connection to their homeland.
The National Digital Commission
The Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has announced a groundbreaking step toward digitisation by introducing legislation for Digital Nation Pakistan. This initiative includes:
Formation of the National Digital Commission: Headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and including the Chief Minister, and regulatory bodies like PTA, NADRA, and SBP, this commission will oversee the digitisation process.
Pakistan Digital Authority: Following the commission, a central authority will develop a national framework for digitisation. The focus will span three key verticals – economy, governance, and society.
Unified Digital Identity: Every citizen will have a single digital identity, making things more efficient and helping Pakistan reach its full potential.
The government is also engaging with a satellite internet provider and preparing for a spectrum auction in April to improve internet services and facilitate the adoption of 4G and 5G technologies.
The Effect on Pakistan’s Economy
The digitisation drive isn’t just about technology—it’s about reshaping Pakistan’s economy and society for the better. This is what it means for the future of the nation:
Better Internet Services: Faster internet with 5G will help freelancers, businesses, and industries work more smoothly.
More Investment in Technology: New investments in the IT sector will boost growth in other industries too.
Boosting the Economy: Digitisation will make government processes and the economy efficient, leading to growth and bringing in global investment.
Opportunities for Freelancers: Better tech services are set to improve the gig economy of this country, which is currently booming across the world, including in Pakistan.
These advancements position Pakistan as a digital hub in the making, ready to compete on a global scale.
