On December 16, 2022, Chairman One Group Zeeshaan Shah, visited NUST along with the senior management team of One Homes and made a large contribution to its Endowment Fund. A DoU signing ceremony was held to formalise the commitment, during which One Homes pledged to donate a total of PKR 12 Million to NUST for its nation-building and university-developing endeavours.
During his visit, Zeeshaan met with Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Commercialisation, and commended him for providing students and faculty with a conducive environment to learn, succeed, and innovate. Such an environment is crucial for the development and success of Pakistan’s key industries, like real estate and construction.
The donation aims to support deserving candidates who are held back from pursuing careers in science and engineering due to the exorbitant cost of higher education. It will ensure that these students are well-equipped with the skills they need to pursue their dreams of becoming pioneers, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow.
Zeeshaan was also given a tour of the National Science & Technology Park (NSTP), Pakistan’s premier academia-based S&T Park, which is also declared as the first Hi-Tech Special Economic Zone in the country. Zeeshaan was keen to learn about the N-ovative Health Technologies facility that made Pakistan the 2nd Muslim Country & 18th Country in the world to locally manufacture cardiac stents.
The Chief Commercial Officer of One Homes, Mr. Aqib Hassan, was also present on the occasion, along with several other NUST alumni who work at One Homes and represent the institution.
