Government of Pakistan and One Homes Launch Mega Independence Day Campaign in London

Celebrating Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day, One Homes, in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and the London High Commission, has adorned the busiest routes of the city with a collection of Pakistan’s most iconic landmarks.

With 150 classic red London buses roaming the city while bearing Pakistan’s cultural identity, the two-week-long campaign was launched in honour of 75 years of Pakistan’s independence.

The buses feature the beauty of Pakistan and its culture, from Islamabad Monument and K2 to Badshahi Masjid and the three World Cup footballs Pakistan has produced.

The campaign aims to project a softer image of the country’s beauty in a city like London, which is known as the capital of the world, as people from almost all nationalities reside here.

Commenting on the campaign, High Commissioner His Excellency Moazzam Ahmad Khan said, “We’re proud to launch this campaign to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan’s independence and 75 years of Britain and Pakistan relations. Pakistan’s diversity and beauty are unparalleled, and we have featured various elements in this campaign that will be seen by millions in the global melting pot of Central London. I would like to thank One Homes for supporting this campaign and continuing to promote Pakistan across the world.”

The campaign, which will run along London’s busiest routes, including Oxford Street, Edgware Road, Piccadilly Circus, and London’s famous Harrods department store, is expected to be seen by over 10 million people over the course of the campaign.

The 150 buses, carrying banners projecting Pakistan’s beauty, start their route from bus depots just outside of London’s Zone 1 and Zone 2 and then enter central London, covering over 5,000 kilometers daily.

Chairman One Group, Zeeshaan Shah said, “London is the capital of the world, and the United Kingdom is a nation that Pakistan has a rich shared history with. There is no better place in the world than the beautiful city of London to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan’s Independence and 75 years of Great Britain and Pakistan’s bilateral relations.”

London’s red double-decker buses have become a global icon with leading brands using them to project themselves to wealthy global audiences.

Commenting on the campaign, Aqib Hassan, Chief Commercial Officer of One Homes, said, “We are proud to support this campaign and be part of such a fabulous initiative. Pakistan’s economy has been on a hugely upward trajectory in recent weeks, and experts expect this momentum to continue as key economic reforms are taking place. Our group has widespread business operations from the US, London, and Dubai to Pakistan, and we will always support Pakistan and keep flying our motherland’s flag. As those of Pakistani heritage, it is our responsibility to give back to the country that gave us the platform to be leaders across the globe.”

He said that during these two weeks, millions of people will see these buses depicting the diversity and beauty of Pakistan. Aqib also said the buses will create an unparalleled lasting visual impact on millions of pedestrians, especially tourists.
